Myofascial Elements of Neck, Shoulder, And Back Pain
These workshops provide a thorough understanding of the structure, function and pathologies related to neck, shoulder and back pain. We will be using a variety of bodywork techniques to address these areas including: myofascial release, active assisted stretches, exploration of movement exercises, and NMT release points. There will also be a comprehensive anatomical review of the thorax and back structures using a variety of teaching aides. You will come away from these classes with a greater awareness of neck, shoulder and back pain and numerous ways to address them. Rather than providing a system or routine, these workshops offer a multidimensional approach to evaluate each client individually.
The basis of this work is to provide effective techniques in a supportive and non-invasive way and to teach clients self care strategies. We will be working in the tissues while constantly trying to inspire personal awareness.
November 1st ( Neck and Shoulder), Nov 8 (Back) 2009.
*8 Continuing Education Credits each
Cost $100.00 each or $190.00 both
Introduction to Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy
A two day course for bodyworkers and healing professionals seeks to give the skills required to begin working with “primary respiration,” a therapeutic, tidal-like movement in the fluids of the body as developed by William Sutherland. “Stillness and Presence” are key ingredients in contacting the subtle fluid tides in the body. Palpation of the shoulders, pelvic, feet, sacrum and spine will guide us as we begin to synchronize with the fluid body and the natural world. The history and theory of Craniosacral Therapy will be discussed. Meditations and exercises will be given to begin to feel the effects of Primary Respiration in and around the body.
